My lessons are, above all, informative. Whatever topic is selected by the tutee for the session, I will start by giving a general overview of the topic. Then, specifics are addressed, and then questions will be answered at the end. This should cover the majority of the topic, allowing the student to have a fundamental understanding. Thereafter, if applicable, exam questions can be looked at in terms of how one would answer a question related to the topic we are looking at.
Lessons can of course become tedious, so I emphasis interaction and engagement. The student's needs are the priority and so the lesson is about them. I have extensive notes related to countless historical topics and so I will reference these in our lessons. I am a young aspiring historian who has been in the same position as the tutee, so I understand the occasional frustration at not grasping a topic! I have learnt from those who taught me- what worked and what did not- meaning my lessons are fun, informative, and comprehensive.
