Alicia Wilburn

Hello! My name is Alicia Wilburn. I love being able to teach you how to thrive and love to learn. As a tutor I strive to make learning fun and engaging. My history and exprience comes from being a special education adaptive teacher as well as a mother to 3 small kids of my own.I understand how challenging learning new things can be and I believe that is why learning should be viewed as an adventure. I also have a bachelor's degree in Psychology, so the idea that mental health is crucially important with regards to every ascept of life including learning is something that I try to let shine in my interactions. As a native English speaker I have a through understanding of the nuances of the language that will help beginners. I love the idea of using engaging books and fun activities to make learning memorable and fun. I also believe that incorporating play with everyday items for younger learners in one of the best ways to make learning an adventure. If parents or guardians around around I believe that getting the caregiver involved is also helpful as I do teach remotely. I believe that everyone is capable of achieving whatever you set your heart and your mind to. With all of this in mind I do understand that learning can seem duanting to some and that there may even be fear but i'm here to help lessen those anxieties and make learning fun.
