My lessons are always personalised to fit your unique goals, whether you’re working on coursework, sparking creativity, mastering exam requirements, or refining technical skills. I believe that learning photography should be as enjoyable as it is educational, so my approach is relaxed and conversational. Together, we’ll explore your interests through engaging activities, thoughtful discussions, and practical exercises that help your ideas come to life.
I’ve studied photography at GCSE, A Level, Foundation, and degree level, which has given me a broad understanding of both the technical and creative sides of the subject. This education, combined with years of hands-on experience, allows me to teach a variety of skills, from mastering camera settings to developing your own unique style. I have a deep knowledge of both analogue and digital photography and can guide you through the processes of each. Additionally, my background in art history and fine art means I can help you understand critical and contextual studies, as well as how to write about art—an essential skill for achieving top grades. I understand that writing can be intimidating for creatives, including myself, but I’ve developed strategies to make it easier and less stressful which I hope to share.
Photography is a creative subject, and my aim is to draw out your inner vision, helping you build confidence in your skills and develop a strong sense of your own style. By questioning and analysing different works, we can uncover what truly captivates you and how to express that through your camera. I’m here to provide guidance, feedback, and encouragement, but I also want to empower you to trust your own creative instincts.
Ultimately, my goal is for you to become confident enough that you won’t need my help anymore. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, I’m here to support you.
