I have a strong interest in psychology, studying it for my A levels where I achieved an A grade and am now studying psychology and behavioural sciences at the University of Durham.
In my sixth form, as psychology prefect I have mentored and tutored students studying psychology. This ranged from planning revision sessions, explaining psychological theories and concepts to helping to students re-write their psychology essay answers.
I am comfortable teaching psychology at either the level of GCSE or A level content.
I understand the importance of tutoring in helping students flourish; I was fortunate enough to receive 1-on-1 tutoring for A level biology, which I originally struggled with. Through well-planned tutoring sessions, I was able to grasp my understanding on convoluted biological concepts. This boosted my subject-specific comprehension and deepened my understanding of effective learning methods. I therefore understand how critical well planned and strategic 1-on-1 tutoring sessions are to help students with their studies.
