I am teaching because I want to help my students to reach their goals. I believe that the most influencing factor for a student to learn something is his motivation to reach HIS goals. If the goals have been decided by students themselves with knowledge of their own motivation, I am confident that it will be only fun to learn. Thus, I first want to learn the motivation behind to adapt my classes in accordance.
As a student myself, I know that classes need to be dynamic and attractif for me to enjoy and not fall asleep ;). Indeed, I am a undergraduate in Marine Biology. I still understand how hard can it sometimes be to be a student. However, as a private tutor I can allow myself to do different activities during my classes which are not undertaken in bigger groups in university or school.
My mom used to be a teacher. I won’t lie I am using some of her tips and tricks in my classes and it is really helpful. It is really interesting because I have been able to see which of these used to work for myself when I was young. Now I am hoping they will be useful to others.
