Growing up in France with English parents, I remember having to learn French from an early age when thrown in the deep end of a French primary school! I believe this has shaped my empathy and patience as a tutor, when it comes to language teaching.
I can relate to the frustrations and self-consciousness that come with learning French, and focus on increasing this confidence in my lessons.
I cater to the specific needs and interests of my students, striving to make lessons as enjoyable as possible by using what I know about my student to personalise the tutoring sessions.
My degree in Psychology, which included modules in child development and learning, has helped me along the way as they have given me some tips and tricks on how to increase learning efficiency.
Whether it's teaching you the foundations of French as a complete beginner, helping to go over certain lessons for school or university, increasing confidence in proficient speakers, I am open to teaching any age or level.
Depending on what you are looking for, the lesson would take various formats. But I am enthusiastic about using the student's hobbies and interests to our advantage, providing take home exercises, if the student is willing, which could include recommendations of French films for their level that I believe could increase their fluency. Or if their passion is music, then some classic french songs which we can translateduring the lesson and analyse the grammar.
