Before the lesson I will communicate with the student, in order to examine weaknesses in subject knowledge of either; math, physics, biology or chemistry. This will be addressed by going over practice exam questions, going over foundational knowledge which the student may have gaps in regarding the specification, as well as utilising resources which will build the students understanding - enabling them to build their exam answers and achieve the top grades. When teaching the sciences I try to focus on exam technique and understanding rather than memorisation - this aids in building a base as well as being able to answer an array of questions. Whereas, I use a different approach for math, math needs time as well as frequent practise on exam questions of different types and difficulty. I have 6 months experience in tutoring and am passionate in the subjects I teach. I have strong communicational skills and a wide range of knowledge in the GCSE and IGCSE Edexcel specification as well as the subject knowledge and content. Additionally, taking A-Level; Math, Biology and Chemistry - gives me a more in depth understanding of the subjects beneath surface level. Lesson times can range between 45 mins and 2 hours, depending on the needs and wants of the student. I am able to provide extra work to be done outside of the lessons, which will be marked and given feedback on, in my own time. This will boost the effectiveness of the lessons as we are able to practise more without wasting valuable lesson time.
