I like to do revision techniques where I will go over the topic with the student and they retrieve their knowledge back to me. This way I know they I gaining an understanding. Once we have gone over and revised the topic, I will give them a fun mini quiz at the end of the lesson to see how much they have learned. I like to get on the same level as my students so that I can understand what they understand, this way I can help them with the subject at hand much easier. My lessons will be fun, exciting, and enjoyable to attend. My experience of having a tutor was great! She was able to understand the way I understand and that made it easier for her to help me understand. She found that I was able to learn better from revising the topic and then testing my knowledge at the end of the lesson. However, every child is different, especially with the way in which they learn. My methods will enable me to find the best learning strategy that works for them. I’ll help them be passionate about the subject so that they can enjoy learning. Message to the students: I don’t usually set homework unless I think it will benefit you. I’d like the student to tell me about themselves so we can work around a schedule of when we can do these lessons. I’d like to get to know my students and I’d like them to get to know me, so we are able to form a trust of one another.
