I am a bilingual teacher with strong communication skills in English and Romanian language. My passion has been mathematics for most of my youth and adult life. My main goal is to help students to learn to enjoy the challenges that this subject brings and to see the benefits that will ultimately translate in fantastic job opportunities. As an experienced teacher, I’ve tutored students of various abilities for mathematics exams to improve my ability to teach tricky mathematical concepts . Since 2014 I have been employed by Bishop Wordsworth’s School and enjoyed challenges that the job brought. I have taught across the key stages , KS3,KS4,KS5 , and for 9 years I have tutored students for GCSE exams ( higher and foundation) and 11+ examinations. Since the early days of my teaching career I’ve been appointed to teach the GCSE syllabus, IGCSE the A-level syllabus alongside with teaching Statistics, Mechanics and Further Mechanics. I’ve gained great experience from teaching various levels of ability, learning to adapt my lesson plans to suit all levels in the classroom. My general approach is to check prior knowledge with mini tasks to start, which then enables me to pitch the lesson or level of difficulty according to the majority of ability of students. My tendencies are to help the student to try and think independently by using effective questioning techniques. All the work produced is modelled and explained to a level that the student can access.
