I am an Ancient History BA (hons) graduate from the University of Manchester, who specializes in Ancient Roman, Ancient Greek, Russian Revolution, civil rights, and German unification in the 19th century. I've been teaching for the last two years and have experience with teaching students aged 8-18, both online and in person. with my online lessons, I always like to start by first just asking some questions, to gauge what the student knows and where I can best support them, Usually, this support will be either essay preparation, where we review essays from previous exams, or helping students with there knowledge retention, I like to adapt each lesson based on how best the educate/ communicate with the student for those who are more verbal learners, I like to focus more on discussions that explore different historical events and concepts. For learners who are more reading and writing focused, I prefer to have them read and highlight an important piece of text before exploring it. Finally with essay preparation, I usually just get a previous exam question and explore how best to answer the said question with the student, often getting them to complete a part of the essay and then review it with the student to see where things went well and where I can help further support them. every student learns differently and that's why I believe it's important to try and tailor the learning experience to best suit the individual.
