Alexander Brenchley-Williams

I am a versatile tutor who is able to tailor lessons to the interests of my students in order to engage them while delivering information efficiently and effectively without boring the learner. I have experience tutoring for both MyTutor and Eco (teaching English as a foreign language) and have been known to be able to teach students that other tutors have struggled with in the past, be it due to lack of effort from the student or simply a lack of engagement within lessons. I have have plenty of experience teaching younger students with learning difficulties through volunteering. I achieved A* in biology at A Level and a 9 at GCSE which I believe is testament to my ability, at the time, to revise. I wish to pass on the techniques I used to achieve my grades and tailor them to the needs, abilities and learning styles of those who need them. The techniques are focused on efficient note taking for a solid overview of topics, past paper questions to asses knowledge followed by revision of the mark scheme and review of full mark answers. I understand for many students the key issue is not always necessarily the knowledge that prevents them from picking up marks for a question but rather the wording of the answer. I great deal of focus will be put on reading the question comprehensively and learning how to hit each point of a mark scheme. I will not, however, take a one-size-fits-all approach to my lessons.
