Photography Business basics - setting up, contracts, accounts, marketing.
I use my experience of 24 years as a professional photographer to provide an understand of how a professional approaches a photoshoot and the skills required to conduct a successful job or capture images for use personally, within your own business such as an e-commerce website, social media or influencer.
I’m an enthusiastic teacher and happy to pass on my knowledge and provide insight alongside anecdotes from my career and the lessons and the mistakes I have made along the way.
I believe that teaching should be conversation and not just a one way flow of learning by rote. If the basic understand and knowledge is taught well questions should arise which enable you to get as much as you need from each lesson.
A basic lesson structure might be as follows:
From zero knowledge of photography to taking competent basic photographs:
1-2 hrs Camera operation and settings e.g. camera construction and features. Shutter speed, aperture and SO. Difference between manual, program and shutter/aperture priority also focus and camera handing. I will provide examples and teaching aids and practice demonstration.
2-3 hours project work taking photographs which reinforce knowledge including critic of images and catch up on any settings not understood. This can be guided in person or on your own.
Students must own their own digital SLR or mirrorless camera.
