Alex Miller

I have accrued over 1,500 hours of teaching experience in science and languages (including English and Spanish), among other subjects such as geography and maths. My style is based around breaking down and re-working difficult concepts into a digestible format for learners, all the while maintaining a 'big picture' mindset that seeks to prepare students as firmly as possible for exams with constant practice in every lesson. I also seek to bolster student confidence by offering my knowledge of self-study and motivational techniques to foster self-reliance outside of lesson time. Lastly, I present a degree of understanding and rapport with students that aims to bring apathetic learners into a more productive state of mind. If I had to name my greatest successes, they would include helping a struggling student achieve his dream grade of 9 in GCSE Biology and helping a homeschooled student with ADHD achieve his dream grade of 7 in Chemistry despite his setbacks.
