There are several elements of my personality that make me the teacher I am: First, I'm really really patient. There are several elements of my personality that make me the teacher I am: First, I'm really really patient. I'll never ever become agitated or cross when a student cannot come up with the correct approach or answer. If that happens, it just means I need to tweak my lesson plan so that I can help the student succeed. Second, I am always optimistic, friendly and personable. I cannot bear to have anything approaching an adversarial relationship with a student, and so I always put on a happy face. Third, I push for a greater and more holistic understanding of a concept; I'm a believer that the tighter we can grasp an issue, the more this conceptual appreciation will diffuse into other questions, other concepts and other areas.
I enjoy giving my students a truly hands-on experience. I rarely lecture for very long, and instead, I push for my students to ask questions, solve a piece of the puzzle themselves, or complete the entire problem. I like to allow my students the latitude to examine an issue with their own thoughts, background, and direction, and really I am simply there to help them do just that. I facilitate an environment conducive to probing a question, trying different approaches, and finding a unique yet proper pathway.
Fortunately, my successes in my field have far outweighed any defeats. In the U.S. , I teach the GMAT (intended for business school students), the GRE (intended for most Master's students) and the LSAT (intended for law students), and have seen more students reach exceptionally impressive schools year after year. I can't wait to help YOU become the next person to reach your academic pinnacle!
