I like to begin where you are. I'll ask you to tell me what you're hoping to gain from our time together, what you're struggling with, and what your goals are. Whether that's a grade, or something more general like writing better conclusions, this will help us devise a plan to help get you where you want to be.
I'll encourage you to participate as much as possible, as we work on strategies that work best for how your brain learns. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to learning, so we will work together to shape our lessons in a way that works for you.
I was awarded my PhD in Italian Studies from UCL, and my work focuses on epidemic disease and religion in medieval Italy. This followed my MA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies also from UCL, and BA in Modern and Medieval Languages (Italian and French) from the University of Cambridge.
I've been teaching in a university environement since 2014 and have taught History, Science and Technology Studies, Liberal Studies, Translation Studies, Languages, and have worked as a Writing Tutor. While my specialism is medieval history, I have taught classes that range from Ancient Chinese philosophy to the AIDS crisis, so I have a great breadth of knowledge.
I am skilled in helping students gain confidence with their writing, improve their analytical skills, and work out referencing issues. I can help you sound more fluid in your written English and improve your ability to communicate clearly.
