I teach lessons in Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Mathematics primarily at a high school level. I specifically teach based around the Scottish curriculum of National 5s, Highers and Advanced Highers but may also teach areas of other courses such as English GCSEs and A-levels, provided I have adequate notice. I can be very flexible with the time and number of lessons per week and am very happy to fit around my students' other commitments. I like to undertake a short preliminary session to gauge what level and topic areas would be most beneficial to cover for the student in question. My lessons are conducted via Zoom and can last from an hour to two hours. during this time I will select a topic and will design a lesson that consists of first an overview of the topic, with input from the student to maintain their engagement, followed by specific questions to test their knowledge so far. We then go through the answers together and mark the students work to assess their performance and allow them to find the best possible answer for each question. This will conclude the lesson, but the student may take any incomplete questions away as homework which they may then send to me for marking before the next lesson. If the student has any specific questions from studying or from their lessons in school, I am happy to look them over and incorporate them into the next lesson to go over and review together. My lessons are productive but friendly to try to help students do their best, but also enjoy the subject at hand.
