My passion is explaining!
Be it professionally or personally I strive to understand as much of the world as I can, and love nothing more than passing this on. I firmly believe the pursuit of knowledge makes the world a richer and better place - and the key to that is engagement. Everyone has their passions and interests and those I find are often the key to teaching.
From working one-to-one with students to help then grasp the core concepts of maths and science that may have eluded them previously, to helping adults explore their areas of interest I always strive to find that key point of engagement to light the spark.
From the tutoring I did at university (both to fellow students and privately to GCSE students) to working as a Science Communicator in Winchester Science Centre and delivering stage shows to hundreds in a mixed audience I always strive to find the right way to get people to engage with the subject.
I am happy to work 1-1, at home or online, or to deliver to large groups - just so long as I can help others progress in their own journeys towards a greater understanding of this fantastic world we share.
