My name is Alessia Scrofana, a versatile Fashion Designer with native Italian and Spanish competence, who is pursuing a fulfilling career path as a Community Interpreter.
I have noticed with significant attention your job seeking at LinkedIn of an Italian Tutor to join your team, reason why I would highlight some relevant details of my academic education and career experience.
I attained a GCE AS Level in scientific literacy at the Liceo Scientifico Nazareno in Rome, to follow a BA Hons Degree in Fashion Design and a Master in Web Fashion Management at the European Institute of Design in Milan. Pursuing to refine my professionalism and advocating a CPD, I attended Advance Courses in Fashion Illustration in New York, Milan and London, and honed my English knowledge by undertaking English programs.
In spite of my experience and passion for the fashion, since moving to London, I have taken up a different, but more gratifying, professional path, as Community Interpreter.
Due to the fact my native languages are Italian and Spanish, I have been in demand to support non-English Speakers across languages. Having lived and worked overseas, I experienced the coping skills and difficulties of being in a different country, therefore I have embraced to reconsider the way to use my resources and capabilities in a fulfilling profession.
Accomplished the CI’s Certificate Level 3 Qualification, my role is to overcome linguistic barriers for vulnerable adults and children in everyday situations, supporting them to access education, health services and therapists, social service and other public benefits, which would otherwise not be possible.
However, what I found most enthralling was doing an Italian linguistic assessment of a bilingual child, collaborating with a Speech Language Therapist.
Being used to cross-cultural relationships and communication, acting as a “mediator”, I would very much consider interacting with children or juniors facilitating them comprehension and conveying my knowledge and skills to support their studies.
Besides, my abetment could have benefit from my mental process as a Designer; to conceive and imbue concepts into designs, to develop and implement collections, have enable me to build up a creative and organised mindset, managing workflow, prioritising multiple deadlines and workloads.
Overall, it would be substantial to evaluate the peculiarities of my variegated background, to appraise my interpersonal skills and empathetic frame of mind, which instilled in a study method it could enhance the day-to-day learning.
Hoping in the opportunity to introduce myself, I would be pleased for a meeting at your convenience.
Kind regards.
Alessia Scrofana
