I'm passionate about human psychology and mental health - I've graduated from the University of Exeter in 2018 with a 2:1 in BSc Clinical Psychology (Applied) and a first on my dissertation concerning childhood trauma. I've worked both in the NHS and university wellbeing services providing low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to varied age groups and cultures.
I am fluent in English, as well as Polish and so can provide lessons/materials in any of those languages. I have experience in tutoring English as a second language, as well as good understanding of effective lesson planning through participating in a TEFL course.
I am flexible around my lesson plan and format and happy to adjust this to fit individual needs. Adjustments can be provided if a learning difficulty/disability affects ability to learn/study.
Usually the lessons take 45-60 minutes, begin with an overall introduction to the topic, which then slowly narrows the focus onto specific subject.
Subject of lesson has to be agreed beforehand to allow for preparation of worksheets and other supplementary materials. Videos, powerpoint presentations and other visual aids can be used to keep the lesson entertaining. Exercises such as quizzes and mock-essay writing can be implemented if appropriate. I offer advice on how to effectively research, read and understand science papers from the field of psychology.
I can offer lessons in person (in Crediton/Exeter area), or online via Skype or Zoom.
