Most of my teaching is centered around the idea that we all learn in different ways. Typically I will come with a lesson plan ready each day based on the topic we are focusing on and students individual learning style. My approach towards homework is again dependent on the time commitment each student can make and their language goals. A lesson for someone preparing for ILETS in a couple weeks and a lesson for someone whose maybe looking to move to an English speaking country look very different typically. I am Irish-American and have spent large parts of my life in both places, and I attended an international school. This unique set of circumstances is what I believe makes me a unique teacher, in that I am very familiar with many different dialects of English and think that this is turn strengthens my students language skills. I am also familiar (and sat myself) a variety of English standardized tests including A-Levels, and GSCES and would be happy to help anyone preparing for these exams, I know they can be daunting but hopefully with some good study strategies (something I generally emphasize on when tutoring) everyone has the capacity to do very well. I happy to do group lessons as well, if students would like to bring a friend to lessons focusing on the same goals. I believe collaboration is an important part of the learning process.
