I create PowerPoint presentations to make it easier for students to visualise and understand the content they study. This enables them to form patterns in the maths topics they learn. I also have access to PDFs and I create word documents with a range of different questions that can flex the student's brain. I also set short tests every other week to assess my student's ability and help them consolidate their knowledge when answering application questions. Furthermore, I ensure they get a mixed practice of questions to ensure they can use their knowledge to answer differently worded problems in a logical and methodical way. Usually, as each of my lessons are one hour, I like to set aside 25 minutes for demonstrating a specific concept and five to ten minutes for the student to ask any questions that I can answer. Consequently, I set aside approximately 20 minutes for the student to practise answering my set of questions and I request the student to send their answer immediately for me to mark, saving time. I like to spend the last five minutes summarising what we have learnt for that day and I ask quick fire questions to ensure my student has got a good grasp of what they have studied.
