My lessons all begin with a started question on the topic I intend to teach. Based on this I tailor my lessons, but it begins as follows. Once the starter is complete, I spend 10 minutes explaining a method and theory behind a specific topic. Then the next 20 minutes is spent working through questions from past papers. Then I tend to move on to another topic and repeat this. Then towards the end of the lesson, I pose one harder question from a different topic to promote active recall from their lessons at school and our previous lessons. I use a blend of books from OCR maths textbooks to mathsgenie for questions as well as my own custom questions and notes.
