Hello there students, My name is Mr Hussain I have been an active Science teacher since September 2021. I have experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Chemistry, Biology and Physics, as well as A level Chemistry.

My style is a little different to other tutors. The way I prefer to teach is by helping the students understand the content rather than just learn and remembering it. I help the students by tailoring my lessons specifically for each individual as all learners are not the same, one technique I use quite frequently is by adapting the lesson to a situation or a scenario which is familiar to the student, allowing them to really understand the core knowledge. Following this I use various questioning techniques which allows me to either stretch the knowledge of students leading to them thinking further ahead, or for the students who haven't quite grasped the knowledge, the questions I ask allow me to unpick the knots in their understanding guiding them back onto the correct path.

Typically how I would run my lessons:

Starter question: this draws the student and gets them to start thinking immediately

I would highlight a success criteria so the student knows what to expect of the lesson.

I would then proceed to talk about the topic, this is where I would begin my techniques to help the students understand as mentioned above, as well as other various methods.

A series of questions which will allow me to unpick their understanding to see whether they have grasped the knowledge or not

A task which consists of a series of differentiated questions ranging from Red Amber and Green, with Red being the easiest and Green being the hardest, again tailored for all students. This is will allow me to see whether the students have really understood the lesson and will determine whether we can move onto the next topic or if the student needs more help.

Akbar's a great tutor, he takes his time explaining things thoroughly and makes sure to break it down to its simplest form so its understandable but still includes the key words which is great. He also doesn't rush with timings as he feels he's failed if the students leave without knowing what they've learnt. All round he's an amazing tutor and always aims to get the best out of his students.
