I am a MS Research student at IISc Bangalore, majoring in Biology. I'm very much passionate about teaching science, primarily Biology and Mathematics, to high school students.
I believe in intelligent learning rather than rote learning. I would ensure that every student understands the concepts and visualises the mechanisms, not just memorising the textbook chapters. The classes are meant to be fun and interactive with minimum workload and maximum output.
I'm doing my biology thesis at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
Apart from doing experiments, I love teaching, sharing the knowledge I have gained with young students, and making them wonder about things. This not only helps them get fascinated but also opens their minds to questioning and logical reasoning. My classes are not just one way learning but two way interactive platform, which ensures that the students understand the concept and can apply it whenever is required. No rote learning and focus is always on the students' understanding and marks would follow.
I've previously mentored high school students for entrance examinations like NEET, JEE and KVPY and have also held careen counselling sessions for the same. And my students have been doing great with the learning acquired.
Apart for doing research and pursuing science, I also love communicating science. Regarding the same, I've represented my research group/lab during open day at IISc. Also, I'm interning at the Office of Communications, IISc as a Science Writing Intern. Till now I have published two articles: a Research Highlight and a Press Release.
