I have tutored high schools students in New Delhi, and my pedagogy has been using mind maps and flow charts to map out chronology of events. I use short notes and certain key words in all my lectures that help students on formulating their arguments aorund a particular topic. Or arranging activities aorund the course content. I also go around asking questions and probing on historical data, we do a simple activity of “what could have been”, while assessing various histories.
Of course, note taking is important, and I try to keep the notes short and crisp. I create a student centre classroom for different learning styles.
