I have recently completed my MA (Thesis) in History from McGill University. During the program, I taught as a Teaching Assistant for two courses. I received great feedback from the professors and the students. I am passionate about tutoring students in English. I would like to empathize with the students, taking care of their needs and requirements to learn the language.
I like to use simple sentences while teaching so that it becomes easier for the students to understand the content. If a student experiences difficulties in learning, I will explain the topics with illustrations and examples. I will adapt my style of teaching and communication according to the proficiency level of the students. I believe that teaching is a two-way communication. Hence I will be open to questions while teaching. At the end of each session, I will summarize the key takeaways and will be available for doubt-clearing. For a follow-up tutoring session, I will start with a recap of the previous session to ensure that the continuity of learning is maintained. I will modify the pace of the sessions and the contents according to the progress of the students.
Students can expect a lot of communication, empathy, and 1:1 attention while learning any topic with my help. I will make sure that the students are satisfied with their learning and feel confident to apply the learning in their academic endeavors. I will also ensure that the students never feel intimidated if they encounter complex topics along the path of learning.
