What I am trying to do is building up the basics of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. Then letting them try the numbers and make them understand how it can be useful in real life scenarios as well. Getting them to know about fractions and why the different types of numbers etc.

Letting them not be afraid of calculations so that they can think for themselves ; why and why not, if I can put it that way.
