I have the experience of teaching mathematics for 21 years for secondary students and thus with my interactions with thousands of students I have understood the needs and necessity of the students. I plan my lessons as per the needs of the students as each student has a specific need and method of understanding and thus each lesson has to be undertaken differently.
My approach to a topic is to first give the basic idea if the interrelated topic that has already been covered followed by the introduction of the topic and then developing the requisite skill to solve the related problems. The next step is to give more complex and interrelated problems to the students and let them solve using their own approach to understand their level of knowledge.
This gives me an idea of the depth and understanding of the students and let me move ahead. If they need I do hand hold them and make them understand the requisite concept.
I believe that me and the students develop a better understanding by trusting each other.
