Introduction & Review: We begin each session by reviewing previous material or checking in on progress toward the student's goals. This helps keep everything connected and ensures continuity.
New Content: I present new material in manageable chunks, ensuring that concepts are introduced gradually and reinforced through examples. I encourage lots of interaction, questions, and clarification.
Active Practice: I include opportunities for the student to practice what they've just learned. This could be through exercises, guided discussions, or problem-solving activities.
Feedback & Reflection: After each task or practice session, we reflect on what worked well and areas for improvement. I offer constructive feedback to help students refine their understanding and skills.
Wrap-Up & Homework (if applicable): At the end of each lesson, I summarize key points, give the student a chance to ask any remaining questions, and provide optional practice or resources for the next session.
I also like to give the student a chance to request any specific topics they’d like to focus on next session that they feel particularly weak on!
Included in the sessions is 24/7 help with homework and I often give advice on how to make revision time tables, how to revise and the creation of revision materials.
In my lessons, I aim to create an engaging, supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring and learning. The format varies depending on the student's goals and learning style, but I generally incorporate a mix of discussion, hands-on activities, and real-world applications to ensure that the content is both relevant and engaging.
