Depending on the needs of an individual, I like to use various methods. For example in regards to a special needs child, I try to make the lesson a lot more lively and try to incorporate their favourite items such as colour and when teaching history I can then also add a few interesting facts which allows them to stay alert through out the lesson. If a particular individual is shy or perhaps anxious, I like to give them the power to lead the lesson and to suggest topics that they may find interesting allowing them to engrange with me and to learn. I like to incorporate a wide range of teaching methods such as giving homework that I may not see so that students can engage from what they have learnt in a lesson. I also try not to teach everything numerically and based on facts and digits as some people struggle with this. So it may be that a student is interested in a specific topic but when it is covered in a lesson they lose engagement of the whole topic at hand. I like to gather the thoughts and ideas of students before I teach a lesson so that I know who is more likely to require a different teaching style. Overall I like to make my tutoring lessons engaging, practical, fun but most importantly, a memorable lesson.
