A good teacher is one who can communicate their knowledge and skills to their students in a way that is interesting, relevant and engaging. A good teacher should know how to communicate with students without being condescending or patronizing. Teachers need to be able to connect with the students on a personal level so that they can understand what motivates them and how to help them achieve their goals.
It is important for teachers to be able to relate with students in order for them to feel comfortable asking questions or sharing ideas with you. Asking questions helps students gain an understanding of the material being taught, while also helping you learn more about what they are interested in and what they find difficult. It is important for teachers to demonstrate their knowledge by explaining concepts so that students can see how they apply it during real world situations. Teaching strategies such as active learning and group work should be used whenever possible because these techniques help reinforce concepts that are difficult for some learners (i.e., thinking critically).
The qualities of a good teacher include enthusiasm, patience and compassion as well as communication skills
