Tutoring is something I have been deeply passionate about since I started my undergraduate degree. I am a natural extrovert, and I love to experience the writing and perspectives of new tutees. My goal is always to meet my students where they currently are; writing isn't easy, and everyone, no matter their skill-level, has their strengths and weaknesses. I like learning about my students and their interests, in order to bring their passions into the lessons, making the tutoring experience not only enjoyable but actually memorable. I also think that going back to the basics is often the best way to tutor for writing; after all, it's one thing to make a sentence beautiful, and another thing entirely to make it actually comprehensible to a reader. I would say that my primary goals for any tutoring session are: to make the writing more comprehensible, to make sure the writer understands the prompt of the assignment, and to make sure they leave feeling more prepared than when they started.
Besides writing, I also enjoy tutoring students in literary comprehension. I have a deep love of reading, and a wide variety of genres which I enjoy. I also read in both English and Spanish, and have experiencing tutoring for texts in both languages.
