I like to cater my lessons based on the needs of the students and the reasons they need to be proficient in English. I think it is important to understand what stage each student has reached with regards to their individual professional/educational career.
Only after establishing your needs, areas of improvement and the stage of professional development you are in, we can then proceed together in a more focused manner.
My approach is based on the IELTS structure. Breaking down English into the 4 main criteria; Writing, Reading, Listening & Speaking. I have a variety of methods for each criteria with a general focus of teaching English as a skill and language, not just a school subject.
On a more personal note, I have been blessed enough to teach English across the 4 criteria's to students from the ages of 15 to 45 years old. I have been writing since I was 8 and have moved across 3 continents gathering experiences and interacting with so many beautiful cultures.
"Writing as writing, writing as rioting, writing as righting. And on the best days all three!"
My background in the medical and educational sectors has always been centred around providing a service to people. It has given me the opportunity to meet some fantastic colleagues, students and friends.
I hope to bring a fresh energy to each of my lessons and I look forward to helping you progress in your professional career whilst learning from each and every conversation!
