I have extensive teaching experience for adults, as I have been a private tutor since 2017, in addition to working at university as a lecturer. I have taught both French and Russian.

The structure of my lessons depends on the student taking them. We will begin our linguistic journey together in discussing your goals and desires, timescales, and degree of competency you possess overall. I will then endeavour to create a course tailored specifically to your needs, drawing upon my rich knowledge of all fields of language. For instance, if your goal is to pass DELF B2, I will heavily incorporate speaking and listening practice into your lessons. You will then follow this course over a period of time of your choosing, and you will achieve your goals that we outlined initially!

As for our student-teacher dynamic, I keep an open-door policy. I invite you to discuss your thoughts and opinions on how you want to learn the language, and I will keep you in-the-loop regarding our plans and content. I believe that the student is a key element of their lessons, and this will be reflected in our student-teacher dynamic.

To create content for your lessons, I will draw upon a number of sources. I tend to use grammar primers and manuals to support grammatical exercises. For speaking and listening practice, I employ the use of audiovisual material, such as excerpts from foreign media, with questions and quizzes about the material. For writing, I will teach you the spelling rules of the language, and assign you written tasks to be completed in your own time. We will also periodically use mock/previous exams to test your ability. I'm afraid this means tests and homework!
