Our lessons will be very much conversational and interactive rather than me speaking at you. This way, you will be encouraged to speak more (especially in Chinese and therefore improve quicker!)

The best part about 1-1 tutoring is that each lesson can be tailored to exactly what you need: your level of Chinese, your interests, and your goal. We will figure something suitable out no matter what age you are. These are general examples/ guidelines to what your lessons may include (but not limited to):

Beginners:
- Chinese songs
- Colloquial day-to-day greetings/ conversations (focusing on what's actually useful!)
- Other vocabulary (colours, numbers)
- Short games (Hot/ cold, 20 questions etc)
- Basic grammar structure (how to form sentences)

Conversational:
- Discuss topics you are interested in
- Chinese characters (reading)
- Advanced vocabulary
- Translating simple sentences (English to Chinese, and vice versa)
- the 4 tones in Chinese (how to recognise them)

Advanced:
- Script reading/ dialogue
- More interesting/ advanced conversations in Chinese (hopefully you'll be able to express yourself in deeper conversations by thenl)
- Chinese characters (writing)
- Chinese history/ culture
- Looking at Chinese poetry/ essays (perhaps even analysing them!)

If you are working towards an examination, we can also figure out what is best/ required in order for you to achieve good results. We can also follow textbook teaching methods, if that's what you prefer, and progress chapter by chapter. Honestly, lessons can be so flexible depending on what you need, so no worries!
