What are my lessons like?
I strive to make as much impact on my students as possible. Going through hours of tuition myself during my GCSEs and A-levels, I understand the importance of making sure the students individual needs are prioritised. This means that I tailor the content of my lessons such that the student is able to tackle subject areas they find difficult, with ease. I provide students with the opportunity to grow and make mistakes whilst slowly guiding them. This means that students are not just ‘fed’ material in a dictatory fashion; ensuring that they build confidence in their own abilities and individual talents. In my experience, this has been the best way to not only tutor, but to learn as a student.
Lesson structure:
I would typically start my lessons off with a short but rapid-fire review of the previous material covered in our sessions as well as a review of the previous weeks’ homework. I would then take any questions, and swiftly move onto the main lessons’ content. After teaching for a short while, I would set some individual/group tasks (depending on the class size). We would then review the task together, ensuring that all questions that arise are comprehensively answered. We would end the session with a final review of the weeks’ content, and homework assignment.
