I start by establishing a very clear routine and we practice a lot from the first day. I make them aware of my expectations and get them to let me know their expectations of me too. With this, we can check that the objectives are achieved at the end of every learning intervention. I build relationships with my students and give them practical roles, including gamification, to enable them know that the class is theirs. I practice differentiation in the class so that even above-average students can be challenged and have something to look up to, and gain. I incorporate story-telling and language skills in my accounting class as well as visuals, scaffolding and modelling. I use scientific assessments to drive my instruction. Overall, I use the student-centred approach in my tutoring.
