I will base my lessons around the current exam syllabus for GCSE level french and A-level if necessary although there is a bigger gap in between in terms of level of understanding. Having done my degree in French, I've retained a high level of understanding of the language to this day. I will be able to help students with the grammar and 'conjugaison' of the language, as well as tenses. I will tailor it around the specific needs of the student but I have contacts with French teachers who can keep me up to date with the current exam requirements. I'm aware that the oral part of the exams are currently in motion but I can still assist with the written part of the exams.
My experience was that I sat the GCSE exam in year 8 and my A-level french a year early at school. I also chose to study French and Spanish at UEA so that I could have the option of going back to France eventually if necessary. This allowed me to learn French Philosophy, history but also my favourite- French law and business. Since then, I have carried on working in multinational departments of insurance companies and also I am currently in charge of running the French, Belgian, Swiss accounts of a Sales company. However, whilst on maternity leave I have some spare time and see potential in helping younger or older people who are choosing to learn different languages to widen their cultural horizons whilst enjoying the process.
