I enjoy tutoring and I’ve been tutoring friends and other people for about 2 years now in GCSE maths, chemistry and physics. I can also help with AS chemistry and AS mathematics. I prefer teaching students by making them attempt challenging questions and helping them learn from their mistakes so that they can come up with methods suited to their personal experience. Students can approach me with questions or content they find challenging and I can walk them through it step by step, helping them understand it and master it along the way. I believe learning from your mistakes is much more beneficial than being taught the correct method straight away and so that is what my lessons revolve around. I can also show students my own personal methods that have helped me throughout GCSE and A-level and the significance of using them. I believe that learning through experience and failed attempts is much more effective and efficient than rote learning as simply memorising certain methods and facts will only be useful when applying your knowledge to specific/straightforward questions. Experience, deep learning and personal skills/methods are what distinguish high achieving students from the rest of the pack and enable them to tackle contextual problems.
