5 years as an online English tutor. I offer both conversational English as well as more focussed work on pronunciation, rhythm and timing of speech as well as intonation. Its not just what you say, but how you say it! I've successfully helped prepare dozens of students for the international IELTS exam. 5 years as an online English tutor. I offer both conversational English as well as more focussed work on pronunciation, rhythm and timing of speech as well as intonation. Its not just what you say, but how you say it! I've successfully helped prepare dozens of students for the international IELTS exam. I've met and worked with over 1000 students from all over the globe including from China, Japan, India, Brazil and Turkey.

I'm both led by the students wishes but also offer suggestions to help them improve. I try to make sessions fun and engaging. I prefer to work with adults and ideally around intermediate level and above.

Sessions can be more structured or free depending on students wishes. I'm not a grammar expert and I don't offer formal sessions with homework. However I have materials I share with students and always make timely suggestions and corrections. This can include specific work on tenses, grammar, vocabulary as needed. Some students like to read and have their pronunciation corrected. I can offer much more than simple corrections and help students to become more confident, fluent and natural when speaking.

I'm very able to assess a students overall English level and then find areas that need to be adressed and then find ways to improve them. I find that IELTS provides a useful structure for sessions, irrespective if they are putting in for the exam, or not. Many students who have a decent level of English often don't use things like phrasal verbs, idioms enough meaning that in real time, everyday situations can struggle to understand native speakers.
