My approach is simple.

Determine what the problem areas are.
Address the students' approach to those problems.
Use fundamentals and a bit of critical thinking to apply a structured and simple method to find solutions.
Use the students' specific learning language (because everyone is not the same) to determine the most ideal method for to arrive at a solution.
Repetition for practice.

I've always found that patience and positive reinforcement works the best and allows for understanding of what inhibitors to learning exists
With this understanding, it is alot easier to help students achieve success with little to no stress.

Using a modern approach to teaching which includes more than just talking at students but also listening and treating them as individuals instead of a group of the same with one thinking process, I have been able to tutor a Ross a variety of subject areas, from primary all the way to tertiary and vocational studies with fantastic results.

The student is the most important part, and working on their strengths as well as developing their abilities to deal with their weaknesses is key to their progress and a big part of what I've used in the past to ensure that each student can handle whatever task comes their way in whatever subject area.
This is because we work on their thinking overall as opposed to just how to solve problems, because thinking is the bigger picture and ultimately the difference between seeing an algebraic equations and being anxious versus seeing one and smiling, because the numbers could be different but the understanding of the material is the same
