I am a private tutor who specialises in supporting students with additional needs. I have countless experience working with children with Autism, ADD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and English as a second language. My sessions focus on the individual child and their specific needs and help them to improve their understanding while also celebrating the achievements they are making and already succeeding at. No two students are the same so no two sessions ever are either. Sessions are structured to make your child feel comfortable and safe and most importantly happy to join in.

The format of my lessons follows a model which I have used for some years now and that I find very successful: "I do, We do, You do". We begin by me doing a modelled example where you can simply sit back and watch and listen. Then we will do one together. You can try and talk me through some steps while hearing again those pointers you saw in my modelled example. And then you have a go. Can you do a question on your own? This structure allows students to know what is coming, They know how the session will flow and are given multiple opportunities to not only practise themselves but to see it being completed successfully.
In our sessions we don't simply learn the steps though. We visualise them. We draw out calculations. And we learn why these steps help us reach the answer. By mastering skills in this way and fully understanding the process it is not simply a memory game but genuine understanding that will stand the test of time and support your teenager through their exams.
