Abigail Smith

After graduating from the university of Nottingham with a Sociology and Social policy BA, I aim to share my passion for sociological thinking with students. Sociology infiltrates all aspects of society and I believe it is crucial that students are equipped with the necessary tools to dissect and critique the established world order. I have been teaching A-level and GCSE sociology for over four years as well as studying the discipline at GCSE, A-level and university level. I take a student-centred methodology that encourages critical thinking by applying sociological concepts to real world discourses. I take a patient and adaptable approach to devising lesson plans to ensure my teaching style is tailored to the individual needs of pupils. I aim to share my passion for sociology with students and build their academic confidence by focusing on exam practice and evaluative skills.
