QUALIFICATIONS
I have a MASTER'S DEGREE in Education and Applied Linguistics, also I have a Diploma in Education and also have Qualified Teacher status (QTLS). I am a CELTA qualified teacher. The CELTA is in English teaching and is a higher level qualification. I have also completed an in-house Diploma in Exam English (IELTS) and have an OET Knowledge Badge in Occupational English Test teaching.

My university Bachelor's degree is in Youth Work, Community Development and Social Science from Goldsmith's University, London.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
I have over 15 years teaching, training and facilitation experience, teaching one to ones, and teaching for the NHS, a prestigious school in Oxford and for charities abroad.

I am British, and English is my first (native) language. I also speak fluent Punjabi and functional French.

I teach students with English at all levels, from beginner through to proficiency. I can help you with: speaking, writing, listening, reading, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and preparation for the OET, IELTS, CAE, FCE and PET exams. I can also help you with GCSE English and Functional Skills English and maths.

In the past I have taught OET to healthcare workers at various hospital locations in the UK and abroad, and was the IELTS lead at my school and Study Centre Manager, so I know how to help students get good grades in the IELTS or OET exams. I provide detailed feedback for writing tasks and specific advice on how to improve your band scores linked to band descriptors.

I can set you homework tasks to do independently, in order to accelerate your progress with English.

LANGUAGE LEVEL TESTING
All my new students have the opportunity to do a grammar, vocabulary and writing test before we start classes. This is to understand the students' language level, and to identify areas for improvement.

Students who are preparing to take the IELTS or OET exam can show me examples of their writing tasks before we start our classes.

I have lived in the UK, US, Hugary, Pakistan and Egypt.

In my spare time I like to: play with technology, travel, do capoeira (a Brazilian dance / martial art), climb, hike, build bicycles and go cycling. I am also interested in social justice.
