The lesson format depends on what the student wants. If the student wants to understand the lesson, then I usually present the lesson clearly and ask CCQs to probe whether the student understood the concept provided. On the other hand, if the student wants to work on exercises, I’ll ask him/her to work on a given number of questions before the lesson then we will work on the solution together. This approach is better than just explaining the key to the student or even working on it without prior preparation on the part of the student.
