I am an undergraduate student currently completing a degree in History. After the degree, I hope to become a history teacher after obtaining my PGCE. I have always wanted to be a teacher and when I began secondary school I fell in love with history because of my history teacher. She made me excited to come to history lessons, eager to learn more about the past. She made it fun and exciting, as well as helpful and interesting and my hope would be that I would do that do. I would love to inspire other students to fall in love with the subject too.
I’m a friendly and approachable person who would answer every question to the best of my ability, even if it was something I didn’t know myself I would go away, learn about it, and come back to you.
I would work around you as a student. Everyone has different learning styles, so I would get to know your learning styles as well as you and your personality to help tailor and personalise the lessons as much as I can to you, so you could benefit from it.
The format of my lessons would of course follow any curriculum that you would be following, but I would also tailor it in a way that you would learn from it best. I would make it fun and interactive so History doesn’t become that lesson on your timetable that you dread!
