I have studied Biology from GCSE to bachelor’s degree level. Subsequently, I have developed significant knowledge and experience in the discipline. I am keen to share my passion for Biology with students and facilitate a learning space that makes studying Biology both enjoyable and interesting!
During my time at university, I was a mentor for students studying Biomedical Science. I taught English informally as a volunteer for STAR – Student Action for Refugees. I have also tutored Biology and Chemistry GCSE and A-Level in various curriculums, including AQA and OCR.

I have sat the UCAT exam and scored in the top 1% nationally with an overall score of 3240. I can appreciate how preparing for the UCAT can be a new and daunting experience. Nonetheless, I am enthusiastic about helping students to feel confident when tackling the exam and achieving their target scores.

My teaching style is supplemented by the student’s exam specifications. I strive to accommodate the unique learning style of the specific student I am teaching. Learning is not one size fits all!

I ensure lessons are as interactive as possible so the student can keep engaged and I can learn more about the student’s knowledge, gaps and challenging topics. In turn, I can better tailor the lessons to their needs. These interactive lessons involve quizzes, descriptive videos, worksheets and mind maps.

The ultimate goal is to help students understand the content before tackling questions together to build their confidence for past papers and, eventually, their exams!

I am also happy to provide material for homework between lessons so the student can practice and revise in their own time if they wish.
