Teaching methods - For students under the age of 11 I prefer to use a more interactive approach and using fun to help engage students. This may be through the physical use of toys and interactive games as well as introducing the use of textbooks and PowerPoints. - For students between 11-14 I predominantly use PowerPoints and textbooks to introduce complicated lessons and topics to better understandings in an adequate manner. This gets students ready for GCSE's and the additional workload and getting ahead of the work before the lessons are taught within school to ensure enough time to reinstate key topics before exams take place
- within 14-16 years olds I prefer to use a more theory based practice to ensure they are used to the pressure of an exam based environment as well as remembering basic formulae and key words to maximize time before the exams. I also prefer to use a more working sessions in which students will answer exam questions throughout the session with help from me and then during free time will also practice them alone to manage key points that may need to be gone over or retaught.
