I worked as a teaching assistant in a primary school in 2017 where I was able to interact with young children and engage them in numeracy, ICT, spellings, and outdoor activities. I gained more interest in teaching when I went on my year abroad as part of my university degree. During this time, I taught French pupils, between the ages of 14 and 21, English and about the UK culture. This was through the creation of cards, questions, reading exercises, learning games, PowerPoint presentations and conversation classes. I believe that we all learn differently. Some people learn better through the use of visuals and others are more suited to auditory, reading or kinaesthetic learning. I believe that my tasks will be able to cater to all. The most important thing is that each student feels comfortable, understood and valued. I believe that making mistakes comes naturally with learning a language. I know from first-hand experience from learning two foreign languages. These mistakes, however, can be easily resolved and sometimes add to the flow of a conversation. I want students to forget about flaws and enjoy the enriching experience of learning a language which can be so much fun. The key is to just keep practising, and I believe that I would be an ideal person, free of judgement, who will help you become more comfortable in speaking and writing English. Topics covered will be diverse, interesting, engaging and fitted to your choice, and feedback will always be welcome to improve your experience furthermore.
