I am someone who is hard-working, dedicated and has an enthusiastic work-ethic. When tutoring, one thing that I aspire for is to keep students engaged and focused throughout the duration of the session whilst also enjoying themselves. In order to create a warm and welcoming environment I'd begin tutoring sessions by friendly conversation, asking the student if they have an specific questions for me before we begin.
My lessons would be completed remotely through the use of Microsoft teams.
All of my lessons will be pre-planned in accordance to any specific requests or areas of which the student particularly needs assistance with.
I will use both presentations which can be screen shared but also, share word documents as well as sending over PDFs of worksheets for the students to complete.
The lessons will consist of written work such as improving previous answers to questions, completing practice questions under timed conditions etc.
However, alongside this, verbal discussions will be very prominent in my lessons as I actively feel that this is effective to increase engagement and to allow for the student to recognise their previous written mistakes.
I went to Chigwell School from
My GCSEs consist of- 2 A** (level 9)- in English Language and History
7- A* (level 8)- including English Literature and Drama
1-A (level 7)
Recently, I completed my A levels in English literature, History and Drama and therefore, these are the three subjects I would tailor my tuition towards ranging from the academic years 7- 13.
My predicted grades are 3 A*s, and I have applied to study English Literature at the University of Warwick
In regards to experience, I would say I have experience with working with children in general as I have helped my MMA Krav Maga instructor teach the kids class. This volunteering was part of my Duke of Edinburgh.
In terms of tutoring, I voluntarily tutored family and friends preparing them for their 11+ exams as well as GCSEs, particularly as I completed these exams myself and am familiar with the criteria.
I am very passionate about these three subjects and have entered essay competitions such as the Howard and Mitchell Essay competition run by my school showcasing my written skills as well as my interest in modern history. Also, I was part of school plays such as 'A View from a Bridge' where I played as Catherine. Finally, I took part in the BBC Young Reporter Scheme writing articles for Colchester Gazette newspaper and therefore am a viable candidate to tutor English especially, as well as History and Drama.

A very thorough and helpful lesson. Aanya taught at a pace I could work and challenged me to answers questions from a different perspective.
